Go into all the nations. The journey begins here in Silver Spring, Maryland, and our destination covers the earth from Nepal to China to Guatemala to West Virginia to the neediest children of the world. Wherever we can reach people, it is our mission to share Christ’s love.
Living Word’s Strategy Is to Be an Apostolic Church
Jesus is our first great Apostle (Hebrews 3:1), sent by His Father into the world; and likewise He now sends us into all the world as an extension of His own apostolic ministry (John 20:21), called by God (Romans 1:1), moving in divine revelation (Ephesians 3:1-7), and laying the foundation of the Lord Jesus Himself in every place (1 Corinthians 3:10-11). The Lord from Heaven has promised to accompany our true apostolic ministry with confirming signs and wonders and miracles (2 Corinthians 12:12). We believe our Lord Jesus Christ has called us to be an apostolic church. We believe He has called us to be founded and built on apostolic revelation, authority and power. We also believe He has called us to send forth men and women—called, trained, equipped and supported—into apostolic ministry, beginning with our Jerusalem (Baltimore/DC), then our Judea (Maryland), our Samaria (the USA), and also to the remotest parts of the earth (Acts 1:8). We especially believe we are called to focus on the 10/40 window, the largest unevangelized frontier of world missions, and other unreached people groups. We have been called into being “for Christ and His Kingdom!” We give ourselves to this calling!
It is presently being discovered that our multi-ethnicity as a church is one of the primary ways in which the Lord desires to expand our borders apostolically:
- By calling people from various nations to prayer for the unreached people groups in their particular nations.
- By financially undergirding anointed, indigenous, apostolic vision and labors.
- By sending out both short-term and long-term foundational ministries to assist in raising up the church in every place. To this end we give ourselves to mentoring men and women to go forth, trained in our own house by our own hands.
